Russian President Vladimir Putin took a tumble after an exhibition hockey game in Sochi on Friday.
Putin, 66, was skating around the edge of the rink, waving to the crowd, when his victory lap was interrupted. The Russian president tripped on a red carpet and fell flat on his face.

Two of his teammates tried and failed to alert the Russian president to the upcoming obstacle.
Putin immediately got back up and resumed skating and waving.
The president participates in the hockey match each year with some former professional players and his friends. He scored eight goals in this year’s game.
The Russian president is known for his athletic pursuits and love of sports. Putin has trained in several martial arts and has co-authored a book on judo, which was distributed to Russian schoolchildren to promote the sport, as well as participates in a number of other sports, including skiing and horseback riding.
