WHO: The Federal Aviation Administration WHAT: “Invested” $3 million in Syracuse Suburban Airport, in Oswego County, N.Y., for renovations such as a new runway and better drainage

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The small airport is only 11 miles from Hancock International Airport, which runs at 50 percent of capacity. With Syracuse Suburban Airport standing unused, and other investors hoping to sell the property as land for any use, the FAA is fighting to keep it an airfield.

WHERE TO VENT: Call the FAA’s office of the inspector general at 800-424-9071.
