ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) — Kane County prosecutors say an Aurora man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison on drug and weapons convictions.
Authorities say 25-year-old Nelson A. Caceras was sentenced Wednesday. He was convicted in May of firearms and drug possession.
The charges stemmed from a 2011 search at Caceres’ home, where police found two handguns, including one that had been defaced, along with cocaine and marijuana.
Caceras posted bond but failed to appear for a court date in 2013. He was found in Puerto Rico in November 2013 and returned to Kane County for prosecution.
