Members of the Baltimore County Council Tuesday unanimously reconfirmed 18 department heads appointed by County Executive Jim Smith for second terms.
The council last week called six department heads ? Fire Chief John Homan, Community Conservation Director Mary Harvey, Environmental Protection and Resource Management Director David Carroll, Planning Director Pat Keller, Permits and Development Management Director Tim Kotroco and Health Director Pierre Vigilance ? for private interviews after the council work session.
Councilman Kevin Kamenetz, D-District 2, said the council wanted to see improvements in the way the department heads communicate with the legislators. Some directors declined to comment after emerging from the closed-door sessions.
Some council members met with directors individually during the week, said newly named council Chairman Sam Moxley, D-District 1, who congratulated the directors and thanked them for their service after Tuesday?s vote.
The council Tuesday night also heard testimony during a public hearing on 13 recommended additions to the county?s designated landmarks list.
