The White House announced late Thursday evening that President Trump’s steel and aluminum tariffs will take effect on Friday, less than one hour away, with the exception of six countries and members of the European Union which received suspensions, providing more time to cut a deal with the U.S.

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and EU member countries all received suspensions, with final determinations to be hashed out by May 1, the White House announced.
