Eric Trump: Subpoenas from Democrats show ‘the deep state at work’

President Trump’s son Eric pointed Tuesday to the recent tidal wave of subpoenas from congressional Democrats as evidence of a growing conspiracy used for the justification for removing his father from office.

“This is the deep state at work,” Eric Trumps said on “Fox & Friends.” “This is how deranged these people are. They’re not winning on issues. They know he is going to win again.”

President Trump late Monday sued two banks he often did business with in recent decades to prevent them from complying with subpoenas sent from the Democrat-led House Intelligence and Financial Services committees.

One of the banks, Deutsche Bank, has loaned Trump more than $2 billion over the years as he ran his real estate empire. Trump’s sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are heading up the Trump Organization.

Leading Democrats have said their investigation stems from alleged money laundering between Trump associates and individuals in Eastern Europe and Russia.

It is just one of several Democrat-led congressional investigations into Trump’s businesses, personal finances, transition team, and 2016 campaign for president.

Late last week, Trump and his aides indicated they do not intend to comply with any of the congressional oversight proceedings.

“These aren’t impartial people,” Trump said.

One of those leading Democrats, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., continues to suggest evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia, which sought to influence the 2016 election, exists.

Trump has called assertions such as Schiff’s and the flurry of subpoenas a politically motivated “witch hunt” and “totally partisan.”

Eric Trump said as Democrats continue to press his father, other people far from his inner circle are unfairly coming under scrutiny as well.

“They’re faltering, so what do they do? They harass,” Eric Trump said. “They harass Tiffany. They harass Don and Ivanka … harass everybody associated. [They] harass White House aides who are young, quite frankly … [they are] trying to bankrupt the kids in amount of legal bills. This is exactly what my father talked about during the election.”
