Police believe one person has committed 65 burglaries and thefts in Fairfax County since late August.
Fairfax County police said the incidents began Aug. 24 and involve a total of 37 burglaries and 28 thefts from vehicles and unlawful entries. Police had previously linked 44 incidents to the suspect.
Two handguns are among the items stolen.
The suspect typically enters homes through an unlocked door or window and steals cash and purses, police said. Police said he breaks into unlocked cars or smashes a window and takes items in plain view.
