NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a 65-year-old woman was found dead after police responded to a 911 call of a fire at a Brooklyn apartment.
Police say the woman was found unconscious and unresponsive in her Gates Avenue apartment after firefighters extinguished the fire shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.
She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
The victim was identified as Beverly Douglas.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
