Rock star Jon Bon Jovi will open for Hillary Clinton at her New Jersey rally on Wednesday, but he won’t sing.
The Garden State native will speak to Clinton supporters at the Golden Dome Athletic arena, but is not scheduled to perform and will use the time to explain why he is supporting Clinton. The Democratic front-runner has had numerous other musicians appear at her campaign events over the past year, including Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and John Legend.
This is the first time Bon Jovi will appear with Clinton, although the Democratic front-runner often walks on stage to his song “Beautiful Day,” as it is on her official campaign playlist.
Bon Jovi and his wife also held Clinton’s first fundraiser in New Jersey in June 2015.
Later in the day Bon Jovi will play for supporters at a Clinton fundraiser in Boston.
The campaign event comes just one week before the state’s June 7 primary. This will be one of Clinton’s only events in New Jersey, as her campaign cancelled campaign stops there on Thursday in order to spend more time campaigning in California.
