BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says a so-called phishing scam is circulating around North Dakota.

Stenehjem says the Consumer Protection Division has received several reports about recorded telephone messages on supposed problems with a person’s bank account or credit card. The scam artist then asks for financial information.

Stenehjem says people should never give out personal or financial information over the telephone in response to unsolicited calls.
