SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A Republican lawmaker who voted in favor of same-sex marriage has been named to a leadership post in the Illinois House.
Ed Sullivan is a Mundelein Republican. He was one of three House GOP lawmakers who voted in favor of the legislation the General Assembly passed last December. He also survived a primary campaign against an opponent who criticized his vote.
