A 22-year-old Baltimore man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday for assaulting his girlfriend, choking and threatening her with a gun in her apartment until she escaped.
Hasan Howard was found guilty of assault and a gun violation at trial in December, a year after he attacked the 22-year-old woman during an argument, the State?s Attorney?s office said. Howard was accused of choking the woman, then reaching for a gun in his waistband when she reached for a phone to call 911. By the time police arrived, the State?s Attorney?s office said, the woman had escaped with her young daughter and Howard was gone.
