BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore firefighters have a five-alarm blaze at a vacant warehouse in the city’s Fells Point neighborhood under control.
The fire broke out around 1:40 p.m., and thick smoke was visible across the city. Officials got the fire control just before 6 p.m., though firefighters expected to remain on scene overnight to continue to pour water on the scene.
Fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright says the building’s roof collapsed, forcing firefighters to leave the building and battle the flames from outside. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while on the scene.
