Baltimore County police are hoping the public can help identify the remains of a woman found Wednesday afternoon by a pair of teenagers near an Owings Mills field.

The body appears to be that to a white woman, between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and 40 to 60 years old, police said. The teens saw it while walking through a wooded area about 50 feet back from Tollgate Road, and couldn?t determine whether they were human, a police spokesman said.

Cpl. Michael Hill said it was unknown Thursday evening whether the remains belong to Nina Tarkovskaya, a 46-year-old woman who went missing May 20 after leaving her Pikesville-area home for a pack of cigarettes.

“Any missing person we have right now thatmeets this description is a possibility,” he said. Investigators are waiting for the medical examiner to determine when the woman died, but “right now, we?re keeping all of our options open.”
