SHERIDAN, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a recreational vehicle has caught fire alongside the Thruway in western New York, shutting one of the two eastbound lanes.
The Thruway Authority reported the fire around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in Interstate 90’s eastbound lanes between Exit 59 at Dunkirk and Exit 58 at Silver Creek.
Troopers say the RV is pulled over on the right shoulder in the Chautauqua (shuh-TAW’-kwuh) County town of Sheridan, on Lake Erie 35 miles southwest of Buffalo.
Police say fire crews are still at the scene dousing the smoldering RV. Troopers say no injuries have been reported.
The fire shut down both lanes for about an hour. The left lane has reopened while the right lane remains closed. Traffic is moving slowly in the area.
There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
