A 19-year-old Alexandria man indicted on first-degree murder charges Monday turned himself into police Wednesday evening.
Police believe Tobias Carrington shot and killed Lee Timmons after an argument in an apartment on the 400 block of Columbus Street in April.
Carrington also is believed to have shot his 57-year-old grandfather before shooting himself.
His grandfather survived the shooting, but was badly injured. Carrington, meanwhile, was not.
“The suspect got into some kind of disagreement with them,” Alexandria police spokeswoman Amy Bertsch said Thursday. “He shot the two men, then shot himself.”
In addition to first-degree murder charges, Carrington was charged with malicious wounding and other fire arms charges. He is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.
Bertsch said the suspect turned himself in at police headquarters, and added she was not sure when Carrington’s trial will begin.
