President Trump said Wednesday that he is not happy about the way Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price used government-funded charter jets to travel for work, and hinted that he might consider firing him.
“We’ll see,” he said when asked whether he might consider firing Price.
When asked about the trips, Trump replied, “I’m looking into it” and added, “I’m not happy about it.”
The White House is looking into news that Price took private jets to fulfill his job obligations rather than take lower-cost commercial planes. He was found to have combined some his official trips with personal business, according to reporting by Politico.
Price stopped taking jets for business while an internal review and inspector general’s investigation is being carried out, but his trips have cost the federal government nearly $300,000.
