Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with a break-in and vandalism of a Takoma Park high school.
Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Takoma Park Police got a call for a report of suspicious subjects on bicycles in the area of 13th Avenue and Elson Place. Officers found the abandoned bikes in the road, and saw the suspects run into a park and jump into Sligo Creek.
Police police set up a perimeter and followed a set of footprints, eventually and arresting three people. Further investigation revealed that the suspects had shattered the window and doors of the Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, and stole sodas and snacks from two vending machines.
Arrested were Brian Joshua Moran, 19, of Takoma Park, Jorge Luis Portillo, 19, of Washington, and David Richard Lopez, 18, of Bowie. They were each charged with of second-degree burglary, destruction of property, and school trespassing.
