Biden neglects to commemorate D-Day despite being active on social media

President Joe Biden did not commemorate the 77th anniversary of D-Day on Sunday despite being active on social media.

None of Biden’s Twitter accounts, @JoeBiden, @POTUS, or @WhiteHouse, made mention of one of America’s most notable military achievements. Biden did send out one tweet Sunday, but it made no mention of D-Day.

The omission of D-Day was noted by House Republicans, who pointed out the silence while sharing a recognition of the World War II battle.

HARRIS SLAMMED FOR ‘LONG WEEKEND’ TWEET THAT DOESN’T MENTION MEMORIAL DAY

“President Biden never mentioned D-Day yesterday,” the House Republicans Twitter account said.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was also questioned about the omission during a press conference Monday, and said the day is “close to [Biden’s] heart and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more we would have to say on it.”

The omission comes just a week after Vice President Kamala Harris generated controversy by failing to mention Memorial Day as the purpose for America’s “long weekend.”

“Enjoy the long weekend,” Harris posted, along with a picture of herself on the Saturday before Memorial Day.

Harris later mentioned fallen service members and Memorial Day specifically in tweets the following two days.

“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country. As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice,” Harris tweeted on the Sunday before Memorial Day.

“We honor those members of our military who sacrificed their lives in order to defend our freedoms. We owe these heroes — and their loved ones — everything. Not just on Memorial Day. Every day,” Harris tweeted on Memorial Day, along with a picture of Arlington National Cemetery.

Unlike Biden, Harris commemorated D-Day on Sunday.

“On the 77th anniversary of #DDay, we honor the heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy and liberated a continent. We will never forget their courage and sacrifice,” Harris said.
