Clinton fallout: GOP bill strips security clearance after ‘extreme carelessness’

The Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee says Hillary Clinton or anyone else who has exhibited “extreme carelessness” when it comes to handling classified information should be stripped of their security clearance, and has introduced legislation to force that change.

The bill from Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, was released just days after the FBI said on July 5 that it wouldn’t recommend criminal charges against Clinton, even though she and her team were “extremely careless” when it came to handling classified information on her private email server.
