SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — The first Missouri River barge in years to make it to the Sioux City area has arrived.

The barge landed Wednesday near CF Industries’ Port Neal plant, which sits about four miles south of Sergeant Bluff. The barge was carrying equipment for the company’s $1.7 billion expansion project. The machinery will be used to produce ammonia, an ingredient for the plant’s nitrogen-based fertilizer products.
