Prosecutors have charged the driver accused of running over two woman in Adams Morgan with involuntary manslaughter.
The charges against 23-year-old Chamica Adams were upgraded Monday after one of the pedestrians, 26-year-old Julia Bachleitner, died.
Police said Adams was driving south on 18th Street on Sept. 8 when her car went over the center island on Florida Avenue and struck Bachleitner and another woman before crashing into a restaurant.
