New Mexico school district bans cell phones

TATUM, N.M. (AP) — A southeastern New Mexico school district has banned students from having cell phones after officials say bullying comments were made on social media.

The Hobbs News-Sun reports (http://goo.gl/v60ApR) that Tatum Municipal Schools Superintendent Buddy Little announced Thursday students won’t be allowed to carry cell phones on campus due to anonymous comments made on the Yik Yak app.
