Police charge driver in fatal motorcycle crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a motorcycle driver has been charged with riding drunk and manslaughter after a crash that killed his passenger.

They say Dennis Conklin of Williamson has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated following an investigation of the wreck that left 46-year-old Mary Nolan of Rochester dead.

Troopers say Conklin was weaving through traffic at high speed when he crashed around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 590 in Rochester.

Nolan as thrown from the bike and Conklin was injured.

He was arraigned Monday in city court and is being held in the Monroe County jail. The county public defender’s office couldn’t be reach for comment.
