Correction officials in Florida are denying that YouTube and Tiktok influencer Nikita Dragun was ever in a men’s unit in jail during the arrest period.
Nikita Dragun, whose real name is Nikita Nguyen, 26, was allegedly walking around a pool naked and throwing water at staff. Eventually, police were called, and Dragun threw a water bottle at the responding officer and security officer, hitting them, a report noted.
Later during the sentencing, Dragun asked if it was necessary to stay in the men’s unit of Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
“Inmate Dragun never made it beyond the booking process prior to release; therefore, she was never placed in a men’s unit. All inmates undergoing our intake process remain in an open seating (open booking) area, in the presence of correctional staff,” corrections spokesman Juan Diasgranados said in a statement.

The YouTuber was placed in a holding cell alone, complete with an LGBT officer during the stay, according to Diasgranados. During the sentencing, Dragun even went as far as to thank the staff because they “were very lovely.”
“Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department is committed to protecting the rights of the transgender community and of all LGBTQ people. MDCR has procedures in place for the appropriate intake, housing, and medical needs of transgender inmates, and we are committed to ensuring that all inmates in our custody, including transgender persons, are treated appropriately throughout our intake, classification and placement process,” the statement read.
Dragun was released without paying the $2,000 bond on the charges of felony battery, a violation of a municipal ordinance, and a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.
The MDCR did not respond to further requests for comment from the Washington Examiner.

There are over 4,500 inmates in MDCR facilities, with men making up the majority at 91%. There are only six inmates, three male and three female, who, like Dragun, are Asian.
