Trump withdraws Pentagon nominee after yearlong delay

President Trump has withdrawn the nomination of Tony Kurta, a Pentagon official who was tapped to be promoted to the head of military personnel and readiness, according to the Senate.

Senators were notified late last week about the decision after Kurta’s nomination, first filed in July of 2017, languished in the chamber for nearly a year.
