MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police say a trooper was hurt when a vehicle forced his cruiser off the road and into a fire hydrant.
It happened late Thursday in Mount Airy. Authorities say the trooper from the Westminster Barracks was responding to a call when a vehicle steered into his lane.
The trooper was forced off the road and hit a fire hydrant. He was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for a possible head injury.
The crash is under investigation.
