QUEEN OF THE CORPORATE JUNGLE: That’s how Evelyn Y. Davis likes to introduce herself. For decades, she’s been attending the annual shareholder meetings of JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and other companies, alternately heckling CEOs for their business practices and remarking on their handsomeness. Her fans say she is a champion for shareholder rights; her critics say she’s grandstanding for attention.
‘SHORTER WITH LESS DRAMA’: Mrs. Davis, who’s 82, is slowing down and didn’t make it to any meetings this year. Her absence was noted. “Our annual meeting this year was shorter with less drama,” Goldman’s Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said in a statement to the AP. “Without Evelyn, it just wasn’t the same.”

LOOKING AHEAD: Mrs. Davis hopes to be back on the meeting circuit next year. She is also open to publishing her annual newsletter, “Highlights and Lowlights,” in 2013, though she’s giving it a sabbatical this year. “Everybody bugs me to do it,” Mrs. Davis said, “because there is no other publication like it.”
