Bowie State student charged in roommate’s fatal stabbing

A Bowie State University student from District Heights has been charged with stabbing her roommate to death, according to the Maryland State Police.

Nineteen-year-old Alexis D. Simpson is charged with first-degree murder in the Thursday night slaying of Dominique T. Frazier, 18, of the District.

The two women lived on campus in the Christa McAuliffe Residential Community building.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, university police responding to a call and found Frazier in the hallway on the second floor of the McAuliffe building. She was bleeding from the upper torso and unconscious. She was taken to a hospital and died about 45 minutes later.

At about midnight, Simpson turned herself in to Prince George’s County Police.

Preliminary investigation indicates the women became involved in an argument in their suite that escaltated into a physical confrontation.
