As her presidential campaign continues to fall further behind the Republican frontrunners, Rep. Michele Bachman is closing her Old Town office.
The campaign’s main office is now in Des Moines, IA, the sources said.
Bachmann spokeswoman Alice Stewart disputed that a headquarters had closed, saying, “Our headquarters has always been in Iowa. With so much of the staff on the road, the Old Town office was simply not convenient.”
In recent weeks, Bachmann’s campaign manager Ed Rollins and deputy campaign manager David Polyansky departed the campaign. As POLITICO first reported, her pollster Ed Goeas also recently left.

And her longtime aide, Andy Parrish, left the campaign payroll to resume with her congressional staff.
After a strong start, Bachmann’s campaign took a hit when Texas Gov. Rick Perry entered the race in August and started courting the Christian conservatives that make up her base. Politico also is reporting that Bachamnn’s fundraising numbers are expected to be considerably lower than previous quarters.
