Complaints from Sykesville residents about noisy trains have not gone unnoticed.

Sykesville Town Manager Matthew Candland said he wrote a letter to CSX Railroad, requesting that the company minimize noise caused by a grinder train that runs through the town for maintenance.

“It?s disturbing, that?s all I can tell you,” said Mayor Jonathan Herman at the Monday council meeting.

Residents have been contacting Herman about the noise.

CSX Railroad does the maintenance in Sykesville in Carroll County for a few days about twice a year.
