DETROIT (AP) — Some Detroit-area students plan to show off their efforts to build a dune buggy and convert it to run on electric power.

An event is Tuesday evening at NextEnergy in Detroit, where the middle school and high school students are seeking additional support for their efforts. They hope to participate in next year’s High School Solar Car Challenge in Texas. The team is called Run DC.
