HALTOM CITY, Texas (AP) — One worker has been killed and another was hurt when part of a vacant warehouse-type building in North Texas collapsed during renovations.
Haltom (HAWL’-tuhm) City police say the deadly accident happened Thursday morning.
Fire Marshal Fred Napp says a second story in the structure collapsed onto the first floor.
A spokesman for MedStar EMS says one man died at the scene. Matt Zavadsky (zuh-VAD’-skee) says a second worker was treated at the site.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident at the structure in Haltom City, about 5 miles northeast of Fort Worth.
