Justin Amash risks splitting votes with Democrat in reelection bid

Michigan Independent Rep. Justin Amash, who left the Republican Party in July, risks splitting votes with the Democratic nominee in a potential reelection battle if he decides to remain in the race.

The Cook Political Report moved the rating for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District from “toss up” to “lean Republican” after Amash cast his votes for both articles of impeachment against President Trump last week.
