CHINO HILLS, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California high school has suspended 21 students after a reported “hazing incident” that occurred when its football team was in Utah last weekend for a game.
Chino Valley Unified School District spokeswoman Julie Gobin said Friday the suspensions ranged from one to five days.
An investigation by officials at Ruben S. Ayala High School is continuing.
No student injuries were reported to the district.
Gobin says the district does not tolerate hazing or bullying and the safety of students is paramount.
The team traveled to St. George, Utah, for a game.
A district statement said students reported a “hazing incident” took place at a hotel. It provided no further details.
