Beijing reopens isolation center in attempt to avoid lockdown

Chinese authorities in Beijing have reopened one of its mass isolation centers in hopes of avoiding yet another coronavirus-related city lockdown like Shanghai’s monthlong shutdown.

The center, Xiaotangshan Hospital, can hold more than 1,000 beds and allows the city to host several infected cases in an isolated location.
