Regional body to help restore stability in Lesotho

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Southern Africa’s regional body said Monday it will send an envoy and an observer team to Lesotho to help restore stability and security in the mountainous kingdom where military actions over the weekend caused the prime minister to flee.

The Southern African Development Community announced the measures after an emergency meeting with Lesotho’s prime minister, Thomas Thabane, deputy prime minister, Mothetjoa Metsing, and others in Pretoria.
