President Trump denounced the National Football League for a second time Wednesday after the league’s commissioner announced it would not punish players who kneel during the national anthem.
“@NFL: Too much talk, not enough action. Stand for the National Anthem,” Trump tweeted.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday that players who chose not to stand during the national anthem would not face any penalties, a decision that earlier in the day Wednesday the president said showed “total disrespect” to the United States.
Players began taking a knee during the national anthem again this season en masse after Trump last month called on team owners to fire players who did so. The demonstrations began as a sign of protest by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to draw attention to multiple officer-involved police shootings that took the lives of African Americans.
