CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie campaigned with Republican Gov. Rick Scott on Friday and did what Florida Republicans have been doing for more than two years. They said Scott’s opponent — Republican-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist — is a political opportunist who can’t be trusted.

Christie visited a Panama City restaurant with Scott and U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland and then they later stopped at an historic courthouse in Wakulla County, just south of Tallahassee. Christie said he’s visited 29 states as chairman of the Republican Governors Association and hasn’t seen a bigger contrast between candidates as he has in Florida.
