D‘IBERVILLE, Miss. (AP) — The city of D’Iberville is clearing the way for another major retail center along Interstate 10 and a casino on Back Bay.

A developer has acquired nearly 80 acres at the I-10 junction with Interstate 110. The homes and businesses there will come down by the end of the year and Mayor Rusty Quave tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/14IQ5Tr ) the developer is talking to national retailers about moving there.

Quave says Land Holdings One has bought the homes and lots where the company plans to build a casino on Back Bay east of I-110.

He says the developer has cleared the land and has begun site work for the casino, although the state Gaming Commission must still approve the final plans and finances.
