RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Historical Society is dusting off some of its special collection pieces for its annual open house.
The event is Saturday in Richmond, and the family-centered open house is free. Events include a book sale, educational demonstrations and costumed interpreters who will demonstrate life on the Civil War battlefield and on the home front.
Historians will also dig into their special collections, including items related to the Titanic. Museum officials also will offer visitors the opportunity to explore items buried in the building’s cornerstone a century ago. They were unearthed this year.
The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
