A former Loudoun County bank manager has been sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing more than $14 million from Wachovia Bank clients.

Linda Tribby, 42, was sentenced Friday in federal court in Alexandria. She pleaded guilty to bank fraud in March, admitting that she stole money that she told clients was going into an account with tax-free interest. That account didn’t exist, and Tribby took control of the funds and fabricated balance statements to dupe the customers.

She was ordered to pay restitution and forfeit properties, investment funds, cars, a helicopter and farm equipment that she bought with the stolen funds.

The scheme ran from December 2003 to January 2011, according to prosecutors. Tribby worked for Wachovia for more than 25 years and was the business relationship manager when she was charged.
