Trump: ESPN should ‘apologize for untruth’

President Trump accused ESPN on Friday of spreading fake news after a female anchor called him a white supremacist this week.

“ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics (and bad programming). People are dumping it in RECORD numbers. Apologize for untruth!” Trump tweeted Friday morning.

“SportsCenter” anchor Jemele Hill tweeted a number of complaints about Trump and called him “unfit” for the Oval Office.

“Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists,” Hill tweeted Monday.

“Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime. His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period,” Hill added. “No, the media doesn’t make it a threat. It IS a threat. He has empowered white supremacists (see: Charlottesville).”

ESPN said the statement does not represent the network’s views, but White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the incident was a “fireable offense.”
