Senate lawmakers may try to pass legislation sanctioning Russia in the coming weeks, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Wednesday.

McConnell, R-Ky., said on the Senate floor that a bill sanctioning Iran would likely be amended with provisions to sanction Russia. The sanctions would appear to be a response to Russia’s meddling in the election, but also for its invasion of Ukraine.
