Murder charges
D.C. police arrested a man in connection with the shooting deaths of two men whose bodies were found inside a sport utility vehicle in the 400 block of Xenia Street SE.
Andrew Brown, 29, of the 1200 block of Blandensburg Road NE, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder while armed in connection with the fatal shooting of Jonathan Baranowski, 25, of Alexandria, and Shawn Graves, 26, of Forest Heights. Police found the men after receiving a report of a shooting at about 4 a.m. Aug. 23.

Bus crash
Thirteen students from Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Bowie were taken to the hospital for evaluation Tuesday afternoon after their bus collided with another vehicle on Route 197 near Bowie Town Center, a Prince George’s Fire Rescue official said. None of the children showed any obvious signs of injury, fire spokesman Mark Brady said.
According to police Cpl. Stephen Pacheco, approximately 50 children were on the bus when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Collington Road (Route 197) and Evergreen Parkway at 3:30 p.m. The driver of the other vehicle, an adult female, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, Brady said.

Prince William County police arrested a 19-year-old man after he allegedly threatened to blow up a Woodbridge 7-Eleven when a clerk asked for his identification. Police are not disclosing whether Aaron Michael Phillip, of no fixed address, was attempting to purchase alcohol or cigarettes, items that require proof of age, when he allegedly made his threat. Phillip, who is facing one count of making a bomb threat, is being held on $5,000 bond. – Joe Rogalsky
