Iran’s foreign minister tweeted Thursday Iran rejected President Trump’s condolences for twin terrorist attacks in Tehran that killed at least 12 on Wednesday.
“Repugnant WH statement & Senate sanctions as Iranians counter terror backed by US clients,” Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said. “Iranian people reject such US claims of friendship.”

Trump issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the attacks and extending his condolences to Iranians.
“We grieve and pray for the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks in Iran, and for the Iranian people, who are going through such challenging times,” Trump’s statement read. “We underscore that states that sponsor terrorism fall victim to the evil they promote.”
ISIS has claimed responsibility for two terrorists attacks, one a suicide bombing and the other a shooting, that occurred in the Iranian Parliament and at the tomb of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who led the Iranian Revolution in the late 1970s.
Fox News reports Iran’s Revolutionary Guard indirectly blamed Saudi Arabia for the attacks and issued a statement saying that it was “meaningful” they occurred after Trump’s trip to Riyadh in May.
