Body found after LA rubbish fire extinguished

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say a body has been found at the scene of a rubbish fire in Northridge.

Officer Norma Eisenman says the body was discovered by firefighters at around 7 a.m. Monday near Nobel Middle School.

City News Service reports firefighters quickly extinguished the outdoor blaze and notified police.

The gender and age of the dead person were not immediately known.
