Heat closed all city schools early

Heat, reaching into the mid-90s, forced all Baltimore City schools to close at noon today, but school officials said they do not expect to close schools Friday.

Teachers are expected to remain in the city’s nearly 200 schools, many of which do not have air conditioning.

Schools chief Andres Alonso has said the school system is evaluating the cost of installing air conditioning in more schools.
