House Speaker Paul Ryan received a standing ovation to a packed House chamber as he told lawmakers, “We are united” after a man opened fire on Republican lawmakers as they prepared for a charity baseball game Wednesday morning.
“We are united,” Ryan, R-Wis., said to applause. “We are united in our shock and we are united in our anguish. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”
