Trump: Cuomo ‘shouldn’t be allowed to have any weapon’

President Trump argued that Chris Cuomo “shouldn’t be allowed to have any weapon” after a video of a heated confrontation between the CNN anchor and another man surfaced Monday.

The video, which showed Cuomo using threatening language in an argument with someone who called him “Fredo,” went viral Monday night and caused The Godfather character’s name to surge in Twitter’s trending algorithm.

The president weighed in on the video Tuesday morning saying, “I thought Chris was Fredo also. The truth hurts. Totally lost it! Low ratings @CNN.”

Trump then followed up later saying, “Would Chris Cuomo be given a Red Flag for his recent rant? Filthy language and a total loss of control. He shouldn’t be allowed to have any weapon. He’s nuts!”

Red flag laws, which the president has supported following two mass shootings earlier this month, would seek to keep guns from those who are perceived to be dangers to themselves or others.

Trump appeared to be suggesting that the anchor’s temper would disqualify him from obtaining a firearm if those laws are in place.
